Estimates Tab
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Now comes the easy bit. This section deals with the different quantities your customer wants a quote for. Lets assume they are looking for a quote for 10,20 and 30 off. Enter 10 in the quantity field followed by the enter key. You will notice that 30 days appears as a default lead time.

This can be changed here or permanently using the defaults section under maintenance from the main menu. The print checkbox tells the system to print this qty on the quotation. We can therefore enter quantities on the quotes which are there purely for our records and not the customers, i.e. removing the tick from this checkbox stops it printing on the quote. Enter 20 and 30 for the qty field on two new lines.

You will notice that no suggested prices have been calculated or any costs. As this is the first time any quantities have been entered then we need to select the   button on the bottom left of the window. The system immediately calculates a suggested price for each qty you have entered.

This is based on the information we have entered in the system on previous sections. All now that is required is to enter a quoted price in the appropriate columns. If the quoted price entered is less than the suggested then it will be shown in red. Blue means it is higher and black it is exactly the same. Enter some appropriate quoted prices.

Lets now assume we have to cut the price somewhat to get the order. Select the process tab and change operation 10s rate per hour to 20. Now select the estimates tab. You will notice that the suggested price has changed to reflect this. By changing any of the costing tabs we can fine tune our quote to get a better or worse suggested price. What you charge the customer is entirely up to you.

Finally from the menu buttons on the bottom of the screen select . Leave the range values as shown and select the preview button. A copy of the quote will now appear on the screen so you may preview it before sending.  We have 3 choices to do this, print, fax or email. Press exit to return to the quote.

Try adding a quote of your own using the knowledge you have learnt from this tutorial.
